ABOUT THE BOOK
For the Beauty by Penny Wheat is a rich and reflective collection of poems, prayers, and meditations that invites readers to rediscover the presence of God in the beauty of the natural world. With vivid imagery, a love of language, and a deeply rooted Christian faith, Penny Wheat leads us through sweeping landscapes, quiet shorelines, changing seasons, and sacred moments of wonder. Her poetry captures both the grandeur and the intimacy of creation — “a textured tapestry, variegated, reticulated, diverse, quilted country” — awakening the reader to the “dearest freshness deep down things.”
Drawing inspiration from Scripture as naturally as from the countryside itself, these pages remind us that God speaks through both His Word and His world. Warm, thoughtful, and spiritually nourishing, For the Beauty is a companion for women who long to slow down, reflect deeply, and encounter God afresh through the rhythms and splendour of creation.
