ABOUT THE BOOK

Christmas Eve, 1914.

In the war-torn trenches, far from home, one young soldier faces an impossible choice when fear is anything but silent.

When a cry for help echoes across No Man’s Land, Harry must decide what sort of man he wants to be – loyal, compassionate or both.

And yet, even in the darkness of war, a glimmer of light begins to shine – through singing soldiers, a football, and coats being used as goalposts.

Emotionally rich and historically inspired, Silent Night by Tony Bower is a free verse narrative that brings hope and light to the darkest of times as the mysterious Christmas spirit pierces through.
